Crazy Cup Sizes

I often hear women identify their bust size with a letter. But did you know that a cup size is only relative to the corresponding band size?

Think of your bra as a circle. The back half of the circle represents the band and the front half represents the cup. As the band increases so will the cup. For example, a 36C is the same cup size as a 34D and 38B.

Many times when I fit women they resist the cup size I have suggested even when I have not increased the cup at all. This is usually because the band they had been wearing is too big so when I fit them to a smaller band, their cup will be a different letter. Often the new size sounds much bigger, even if I am keeping them in the same cup.

So next time you’re bra shopping remember that a “C” is a different size in every band.
